  • FR. SCOTT VALENTYN | Sacramental Minister

Fr. Scott was born and raised in Little Chute, WI. After high school, he went to UW-Madison for 2 years before he began to sense that God was calling him to the priesthood. At that point, he entered seminary for the Diocese of Green Bay and was sent to St. John Vianney College Seminary at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. After 3 years of Philosophy studies there, he was sent to the North American College in Rome for 4 years of Theology studies. •  Fr. Michael Thiel   Sacramental Minister

A native of northeastern Wisconsin (and you can bet your cheese curd he’s a Packer fan), Fr. Michael Thiel was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Green Bay on June 25, 2016. He currently serves St. Francis Xavier Parish and St. Mary Parish, both in De Pere. He also gets to hang out with college students as the Priest Celebrant of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, which is pretty cool.

Always down for caffeine and good conversation, you can find Fr. Michael in any of the local coffee shops engaged in lively discussion about life and discipleship. Obviously with other people. Not with himself, because that would be weird. If you find yourself on the other side of a few of his homilies, you’ll come to know that the Eucharist, Confession, and Mary are three pillars of not just his preaching, but his own spiritual life. It’s like the perfect one-two punch with an added roundhouse kick. Just Google Mary-punching-Satan-in-the-face; you’re welcome. When he’s not on his fifth cup of coffee at Kavarna, you can find Fr. Michael adventuring around the Great Outdoors. Anything involving water, fire, or the mountains, and he’s there. One of his favorite pastimes is traversing available waterways in his bright red kayak. So don’t be surprised if you see a guy in a collar paddling around the greater Green Bay area.
