Advent marks the time of spiritual preparation by the faithful before Christmas.  Advent begins on the Sunday after the feast of Christ the King.  It spans for four Sundays and four weeks of preparation.  The liturgical colors are blue-violet and rose.

As a faith community we celebrate the 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks of Advent before winter break.

CHRISTMAS | December 25

The liturgical season of Christmas begins with the vigil Masses on Christmas Eve and concludes on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. During this season, we celebrate the birth of Christ into our world and into our hearts, and reflect on the gift of salvation that is born with him…including the fact that he was born to die for us. The liturgical color is white.

In between everything else

The Sundays and weeks of Ordinary Time take us through the life of Christ. This is the time of conversion. This is living the life of Christ. Ordinary Time is a time for growth and maturation, a time in which the mystery of Christ is called to penetrate ever more deeply into history until all things are finally caught up in Christ.  The liturgical color is green.

LENT | Begins Ash wednesday

40 Days of Prayer Fasting Almsgiving

During Lent the Church asks us to surrender ourselves to prayer and the reading of Scripture, to fasting and to giving alms.  The fast that all do together on Fridays is but a sign of the daily Lenten discipline of individuals and households: fasting for certain periods of time, fasting from certain foods, but also fasting from other things and activities.  Likewise, the giving of alms is some effort to share this world equally-not only thought the distribution of money, but through the sharing of out time and talents.

The liturgical color is red-violet.

Easter Sunday is the greatest feast of the Church year.  Easter Time is the most important time of the liturgical year.  It is the celebration of Jesus' resurrection from the dead, culminating in his Ascension to the Father and sending of the Holy Spirit upon the Church. There are 50 days of Easter Time.  It is characterized by the joy of glorified life and the victory over death, expressed by the resounding Alleluia!   The liturgical color is white.
